Westlife Boys Can Crack U.S.

Cowell gives band a big plug

By Claire Browne

Simon Cowell has given boyband Westlife a boost in their long-running efforts to crack the lucrative American market.

The lads are huge worldwide sellers with 40 million albums sold, but their only US hit came a decade ago with Swear It Again.

But this week one of their hits, 2008's Us Against The World, was played on top-rated show America's Got Talent by Cowell.

The track was played as background music while illusionist Joseph Constantine awaited his fate from judges Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff.

Hoping

Constantine made it through and now Westlife will be hoping they too can prove to American audiences that they've got talent too.
