Newly-wed popstar Jodi Albert has revealed her heartbreak over the death of her grandad.
The sultry singer got hitched to Westlife star Kian Egan in a romantic ceremony in Barbados last month, but she has spoken about her sadness over her late relative.
She sparked dozens of messages of support after posting a photo of her with her grandfather on her Twitter page.
The picture obviously holds huge sentimental value for Jodi, who has now made Ireland her adopted home since hooking up with Kian more than five years ago.
"Me and my beautiful grandad...i miss him already...RIP grandad i love you so much. xxx," she wrote.
The star, who's now fronting Louis Walsh's new girlband, revealed how she used to spend every weekend with him and her Limerick-born grandmother as her parents were working at the East End market in London.
More than 1,000 of Jodi's Twitter followers have now viewed the photo of her with her sailor grandad, which has prompted a string of tributes from fans, who have passed on their condolences to the former Hollyoaks actress.
And the wealth of support she got didn't go un-noticed judging by the response from Jodi, who declined to say when her grandfather died.
"Hey guys you are the best! Thank you all for the beautiful things you had said in your msg..obviously i can't reply to all..but will try," she wrote.
The former TV beauty is now busy enjoying life as a married lady since getting hitched to the star in a dream wedding in Barbados, surrounded by all their closest friends and family.
And the couple have prompted speculation that they could already be intending to start a family after getting the green light to expand their four-bedroomed home in Strandhill, Co Sligo.
Creative
Gorgeous Jodi revealed how she "can't wait to start decorating" and said it was "time to get creative" when it came to her seaside home in the beauty spot. The master bedroom will include two walk-in wardrobes, while a nearby room has been described on the plans as a 'baby room'.
The couple, who dated for seven years, will be doubling the bungalow's original size to a roomy 5,231sq ft and plan to divide their time between their Irish and British homes.
Kian splashed out a modest €340,000 in 2004 to purchase the private estate house, which is just a few hundred yards from the plush house which he bought for his parents. The couple also have an apartment in London.
"Kian and I are really excited about our lives together," Jodi said. "And when I do have a baby I want to spend all my time with it, I want to be the one who brings it up. To do that I would have to be grown up myself. We talk about them all the time, but I'm 25, and I really want to give my career a go."
Her comments have been echoed by her smitten hubby Kian, who also manages her new girlband.
"For a lot of people babies come quite quickly, after you get married, but given our lifestyle and jobs it's just not practical."
